The following bulls were all born in Japan or from Japanese bred cows once they arrived in the US. These are the foundation bulls that were used as sires in our Triangle B Ranch Fullblood Japanese Black Wagyu breeding herd. We continue to use semen from many of these bull today!

TF Itomichi ½/TF36

Group C

This bull produces good quality carcasses with large frame size. He consistently increases mature size and growth rate without reducing marbling. He adds good maternal traits including very good milking ability in his female offspring. He is sired by the great Itomichi, one of seven sons out of more than 1,000 to outperform his sire, Dai 7 Itozakura.

TF Itohana 2/TF38

Group A

This bull produces good quality carcasses with above average frame. He adds good milking ability to the Tajima lines and is ideal for producing breeding females. He is a line bred Dai 7 Itozakura son and has been used to produce breeding females at the Ranch.

TF Kikutsuru Doi/TF146

The first of two sons from the great Japanese bull Tanifuku Doi that is available outside of Japan. Tanifukudoi is sired by Yasutanidoi out of Japan’s most famous cow, Kikutsuru, affectionately known in Japan as “The Hyogo Cow”. She is accredited for putting size into Tajima cattle. Tanifukudoi and Yasufuku J930 are half brothers on the sire side. Semen on this bull is very rare. TF146 is one of the two most influential bulls used in the Ranch’s beef program and is known for increasing fine marbling.

Kimifuku 3

The second of two sons from the great Japanese bull Tanifuku Doi that is available outside of Japan. This bull is the highest marbling bull Mr. Shogo Takeda raised in his lifetime. Kimifuku 3 has great influence in one of the Ranch’s dam lines and several bulls have been bred as terminal sires.

TF Itoshigefuji/TF147

This is the most prominent sire used at the Ranch to produce breeding females. Offspring from these females produce good carcass, the best average daily gain, early maturing, and the best marbling from the Dai 7 Itozakura bloodline. These females carry a calf very well on pasture. He is a line bred Itofuji son.

TF Itozurudoi/TF151

This is a prominent sire used at the ranch to produce breeding females. These offspring produce excellent carcasses with good daily gain. Crossing these females with TF148 makes exceptional carcasses. These females do very well on grass pasture.

TF Itoshigenami/TF148

This bull produces excellent carcasses with super fine marbling, especially over Takeda genetics. His females provide good milk and are maintain their body composition well on pasture. This is a line bred Shigekanenami bull. Shigekanenami was the bull that made the Kumanami line famous and left a great result in his descendants.

TF Mitsuhikokura/TF149

The highest percentage Shimane bloodline bull outside of Japan, is excellent for producing breeding females with exceptional milking ability and maternal traits. Offspring have a deep chest cavity and a good top line with consistency. The carcasses have good marbling and a very large eye muscle area. These genetics are rare.

TF Kikuterushige/TF150

This bull produces excellent carcasses. Offspring are slow maturing, tall, narrow and frail, temperament should be monitored closely. TF150 is a line bred Kikuterudoi bull.

JVP Fukutsuru 068

This bull is the #1 marbling bull in the U.S. Sire Summary and has consistently held that position for many years. He produces excellent fine marbling and is best used in terminal production. His carcasses consistently grade out the highest but his offspring generally have smaller ribeye areas. Female offspring have a tendency to demonstrate reduced but adequate milk.

JVP Kikuyasu 400

This bull weighed about 2,000 lbs, being the heaviest Tajima bull to leave Japan. He produces top carcass with a large ribeye area. Female offspring have a tendency to be poor milking.

This bull produces great carcasses with excellent marbling and a large rib eye area. Female offspring have a tendency to be poor milking. He is a good all around bull for meat quality, body development, and fertility.

This bull produces excellent carcasses with very fine marbling. He is an excellent bull for terminal meat production. The Ranch is currently breeding some bulls for future semen collection and use on its breeding herd.

Kousyun

This bull produces excellent carcasses with very fine marbling. He is a direct son of the great Yasufuku J930 who is the most highly recognized bull in all of Japan. We believe this bull will outperform his half brother Yasufuku Jr.

This bull produces offspring with excellent growth and a very balanced frame. Females have very good maternal traits and milk very well. Carcasses from his offspring consistently grade on the high end but the marbling has a tendency to be moderately course.

Itomoritaka/002

This Fujiyoushi x Kedaka cross bull has a lot of frame and his female offspring have very good maternal traits with good milk. Carcasses from his offspring have excellent growth. We have found that carcasses from his offspring have a tendency to marble slightly below average.

This bull produces offspring with larger frame size. Females have very good maternal traits and milk is adequate. Carcasses from his offspring consistently grade on the high end but the marbling has a tendency to be moderately course. The lack of docility has been an issue with some offspring.

Sanjirou

This bull has become a very influential bull in our herd. He has great meat quality, large ribeye area, thick rib and high yields. He has outperformed his sire Michifuku in the latest U.S. Sire summary. His dam, Suzutani, is probably one of the top imported females from Japan.

Shigeshigetani

This bull produces female offspring that perform well and are above average size. Birth weights are slightly higher than most Group D bulls. Famales have good maternal traits and milk is good. Carcasses from his offspring grade on the high end and marbling is very fine.
